biography

Her humanity and social views touch her photography. Self taught through study of the greats, she chose Robert Doisneau and Henri Cartier-Bresson as her private mentors.
Suilian Richon was born and raised in Brazil.
From her childhood to young adulthood her perception was trained by formative experiences. Her professional path was versatile.
She worked as a body therapist who assisted dancers to find and develop their self-esteem. One special memory remains a social project in a prison for women.
As a surgical assistant in respected hospitals of Neurology in São Paulo, she was taught the importance of fine and precise action in extreme situations.
Her studies as a lawyer began in Brazil, but these were interrupted when a family emergency called her away to France. Here she undertook photography workshops at the Nikon School in Paris for example, and then in Germany since 2012, with Ralph Mann and Jens Brüggemann. This is where photography and a camera became her daily companion.
Her self-training and relentless study of the History of Art became essential attributes.
International travels and an active exchange with different cultures, such as the Syrian-Lebanese; Japanese; Brazilian; and German communities, are evidence of her passion for cultures, people and essential questions of humanity.
As photographer, the focus of Suilian Richon is the person she sees in front of her. Her philosophy is aligned to capture the essence of beauty. “Beauty is in every person, in every one of us”.
Her special thanks go to her loving family that supports her in all steps of transforming her passion into a professional skill.
